Responsibilities

  • Operates a semi-truck according to applicable local, state, and federal transportation laws.
  • Knows and follows all safety requirements, regulations, and procedures for operating a tractor and trailer with a Class A CDL. Completes DOT logs legally and accurately.
  • Transports and delivers loads safely and in a timely manner over required route. Manages time to safely keep schedules.​​​
  • Assists customers with unloading doors and related components at customer locations, re-secure load after each stop.
  • Accurately counts cargo being unloaded and completes all paperwork – verifying all product was delivered and in good condition. Communicates any shortages or damaged product to the office immediately – and documents accordingly.
  • Receives any authorized returned goods and signs corresponding RGA once product is received. Follows procedures for returns to ensure product is labeled and returned in good condition.
  • Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air, reports maintenance malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Performs some minor routine maintenance such as greasing of equipment, changing of light bulbs, etc.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of products, colors, styles, and parts. Has a working knowledge of all associated components.
  • Champion an overall culture of teamwork and cooperation between locations and departments.
  • Provide assistance to internal and external customers with a can-do attitude.

Competencies Required

  • Professional and courteous demeanor and ability to communicate with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • Sound judgement and skill to safely operate the truck in all conditions (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
  • Physically able to lift and carry doors and related components using many ranges of motion throughout the day.
  • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.
  • Ability to pass required DOT physicals and drug screening requirements.
  • Has and maintains an appropriately clean driving record.
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

Standard night-out pay - no tracking receipts for per diem
