Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am
Starting Wage: $24/HR DOE
Summary:
The Overlay position is responsible for the precise assembly of custom overlay garage doors, transforming standard steel door panels into carriage house–style doors based on customer specifications. This role requires the ability to accurately interpret design diagrams and translate them into finished products by carefully measuring, cutting, and assembling overlay components. Employees must ensure each piece is aligned and installed with a high level of precision to achieve the desired aesthetic and quality standards. Success in this position requires strong measuring skills, exceptional attention to detail, and hands-on carpentry aptitude.
Essential Duties:
- Read and interpret order details and design diagrams to understand customer specifications.
- Measure, mark, and pre-cut wood components with a high level of accuracy.
- Organize and label materials to ensure efficiency and proper assembly.
- Operate routing equipment to finish boards and achieve required design details.
- Sand, prep, and paint according to order requirements.
- Assemble wood overlay components onto steel door sections, ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment.
- Inspect finished product to ensure it matches design specifications and meets quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety procedures.
- Assist in Production or Shipping areas as requested.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
- Maintains a high level of quality to eliminate mistakes.

- High level of attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret job specs.
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32”.
- Patience and ability to focus without rushing.
- Sound judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills in all situations.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and written, to ensure a clear understanding of work instructions and safety protocols.
- Have prompt and reliable attendance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
High School or GED required, and 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred or; an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully to perform the essential responsibilities and duties as listed above.
